If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Finally found something besides seagulls to shoot. Marrickville, Ontario. Going back to day for some BIF. Did not have much time yesterday.

Weather played hell with my plans to shoot a McNeese football scrimmage this week. Did get to shoot the Media Day.

I'll post a few photos later.

You Canadian guys, if you follow Canadian football, may recognize this guy who has come home and is coaching at McNeese now.

I must say I don't know who that is. When I saw the photo, the first name that popped into my head was Barry Bonds.

Both nice shots. Based on the focal lengths used I'd guess both are crops. Lots of osprey around here but getting close is another story. I'm paying close attention to the settings you used. At about 7pm on Sunday I was watching a juvenile bald eagle. It was heavy overcast and with 1/2500, F8, 600mm on the tamron I would have needed ISO 12,800 to get the proper exposure. Real problems getting the shutter speed up and keeping the ISO down. Starting to think you guys are using a different sun than I am.

With all these wonderful insect pictures being posted in the various threads. I thought I would post one. Not exactly a natural background. this dragon fly landed on the boardwalk I was on three times. I was able to get pictures from various angles. I've kept the size a bit larger than usual. Not sure what the site will do with it /when reducing the size. Here's one.

Can anyone identify this bird? Is it a blackbird? This is a large crop.
