There's something about Monument Valley and Antelope Canyon that attracts Europeans. They seem to be required stops for European travel agencies when doing a southwest trip to the US. Lovely photo. I visited both of those places several years ago, when I was traveling with a bunch of Germans on a tour of the US that they had booked via their travel agent.

I think they come here to see things they can't see in Europe. Any old urban stuff we have is nothing compared to what they have over there, but the deserts are unique. If you browse the bookstores in the parks, their photo books of the parks will have a German language edition, that will tell you how popular it is with Europeans.

I love everything about this photo, particularly the interplay of light and shadow, which is what makes the best landscape shots really sing. It brings to mind one of my all time favorite landscape photos: Woodland Wanders by Mark Littlejohn

Thanks for linking to this guy (I think), he's great. Agree also on seagulls photo, very nice, and your mountain photo is something. All very inspiring, and a bit humbling.

This is another photo from my backpacking trip to British Columbia. Here, the rising sun lights up the mountain in this tranquil little spot where a patch of dwarf fireweed at full bloom frame the mountains reflection.
