Thats what I would kill for actually....a shot of a cormorant nest!..

It's funny because I would kill for a chance to photograph the birds you see every day. Sigh.

Yeah, thanks Jeff, they're amazing, especially when you see them catch something in flight. I missed the flight shot with this one. Not brilliant as it's a huge crop

As much as the little hummer is beautiful/detailed I like the thorns! They add a lot to the character of the bird.

My Cormorant.

I remember when I saw these guys a couple of months ago, their eyes were either opulent blue or emerald green. For those in the know... were they a different species or is it like a breeding season thing?

Top pigeon shot.... Colors and detail, pose and framing really work together to make this shot

I know that the Double Crested Cormorant's eye colour changes according to season. But the bird you photographed looks like a very young bird who's eyes have yet to take on the blue or green colour.

The smallest we have out back, also the most defiant and the strongest (per weight). I haven't shot one in quite a while so was glad to get this visit-

MedicineMan ....why would a guy like you live in the desert ??? Or are you just near sighted lol

smythie wrote in post #18100601 (external link)
I can see a fair bit of grain in the detail of the bird but none in the background. The image looked to me like a masked and unsharpened, if slightly blurred background, with a sharpened subject. Nothing objectionable to me though. It wasn't meant as criticism and was more a question related to the Sony.
