Phil, do you still actively shoot with the 30D?

I'd like to but I lent it to a co-worker of mine. With the crop factor I'd like to use my Tammy 150-600 on it.

I'd like to but I lent it to a co-worker of mine. With the crop factor I'd like to use my Tammy 150-600 on it.

A little late coming back to this, but you will see no improvement from the 20D's "crop factor" when compared to your 5DIII. Crop the 5DIII back to match the 20D and you have the same number of pixels. In that situation the 5DIII's much newer sensor technology will be a huge huge advantage.

Just to keep the image content up here are a couple of shots from my 20D. I don't use my 20D that much anymore, but do keep it to hand at airshows with a wider lens on it, for the times my 50D with Sigma 150-600 C is just too long at an airshow.

The first one is an old one, and a bit of a favorite, from when the 20D was new to me, and my main body.

One of those wide shots from last years, Duxford Spring Airshow.

It is great seeing all of the wonderful images being created today with the 20D and 30D! Undeniable proof that it is the photographer that creates the image and not the latest tech in cameras!!

Cheers,
Bryan

Caught this little guy this morning. Forgot to switch the image quality back to RAW, this is a JPEG! Balanced, and cropped only.
