Pre-ordered. Damn excited about the specs! The 5D3 served me well, and this Mark IV appears to correct everything I found lacking in that camera.

Coming from the 5D3, here are the things that have me excited:

- Dual Pixel Raw microadjustment looks AMAZING! I really hope this marks the end of the "MFA neurosis" that I suffer from  I can see more people using the 50L now that the focus shift is a little more manageable :p
- 30MP. Can't complain about that.
- AF w/ all 61 points @ f/8. Fantastic.
- 7 fps
- Touch screen is great, love it on my 80D
- Wi-Fi. No more Eye-Fi card! No more Error 80!
- No mention of Auto ISO in M, but I'm assuming it's there? If so: FINALLY.
- Screen grab from 4K. Fricken awesome.

Stuff that I'm "meh" about:

- No tilt/flip screen. I used to poo-poo it, but after using it on my 80D I find that it just makes for a wonderful shooting experience.
- No AF point linked spot metering.

If this sensor has similar/better performance to the 80D, I think this will be a grand slam for Canon.

pretty much my exact thoughts, it is going to be such a beast of a workhorse camera

i was really hoping it had articulating screen too, will make astro work soooooo much easier while the camera is sitting on a tracker

We don't know how far the touchscreen goes though. Is it more like the SL1/80D, or more like the 1DX2?
I don't see mention of auto ISO in M either, but the 7D2 has it, as does the 1DX series. I hope so.

Kind of have mixed emotions at this point...was hoping for more from a video standpoint (more features than the 1DxII), but it's still reasonably attractive as an all-arounder (for the price).

-No c-log - bummer
-No 4k over HDMI - means no 4k ProRes recording on an external recorder. Definitely a bummer.

I'm very curious to see what can be done from an editing/grading standpoint with the 4k footage and a flat image profile. DPAF and 4k at $3500 is still pretty attractive even with the limitations.

According to the YouTube 5D4 intro videos, touch screen is full-on, just like the 80D. The 1DX II touch screen capability is laughable in comparison, though I bet they'll firmware update the missing gestures soon enough.

The 1DC is now only $4999 :-)

Used, they're around $4k. Starting to look really attractive, actually.

Still waiting to hear if they fixed the AF points "issue" that the 5D3 had. As I keep saying, if they make it like the 80D then there won't be any problem.

It will have Anti-Flicker though, which is another +.

What were the AF point issues you've experienced with the 5D3?

The selected AF point wouldn't be red until you achieved focus lock. This was more of an annoyance than anything, but it made it challenging to manipulate your AF point in either brightly lit or very dark scenes where the AF point would wash out/blend in. Canon released a firmware that fixed this issue on the 1DX, but in typical Canon fashion they let the 5D3 stagnate.

Afraid so, but I'll take off your hands for £900 if you like? Save you messing on with it and potential embarrassment if someone off the forum spots you out with it...;-)a

sounds great but I was hoping for at least 36 megapixel and at least 8 FPS, that way I could sell 5DIII and 7DII but thinking I will stick with these two for a while

I'd love to rob you of £900 but it's the exact size for a chock to stop my Swift Sport rolling back down a hill if the handbrake fails.
