Where's Nifty?! #2

One of my jobs is to teach watercolor (watercolours for the British, Canadians, New Zealanders and Australians).

very nice! apparently my grandfather used to do some wonderful watercolour paintings, sadly his brother burnt most of them when Grandad passed away in the early '60s but we do have a couple that escaped.

Mam says I'm not allowed to take one more photo until I get some of the processing backlog cleared.

On Sunday we were up at the crack of dawn again and off to the Isle of Skye. I'm getting to know that road (and the Pass) quite well as I've been on it so many times! This time, it was a shorter drive as we were to climb a small(ish) hill from the east side so only 60 miles. As we left early there was very little traffic and we were all booted up and ready to go by 9:30 am.

Well, I couldn't see a thing as the mist was down and I might as well have been blind - not much fun for a lens. However, Mam knew where she was going so headed up a path and after a while took off to the right and into the unknown. It was pretty boggy after all the rain but as we started climbing the going got better and some of the surrounding hills started to show up out of the cloud.

Taken from our ascent, this is the path up to Mam's favourite Munro (Bla Bheinn) and she may take me up there if/when I come back for another visit.

Wonderful set, Renata. Love the donkeys. If I had land I would open a donkey sanctuary for sure.

Mam and I went up the hill behind her house a couple of weeks ago with just me on the little 100d (SL1). I totally forgot to post this, what with all the excitement of the big hills.

US Nifty here again. Nifty and I had a very busy and tiring day visiting downtown Dallas. The heat was quite unbearable but the lens and I have survived. Obviously, it's not possible to record everything there is in Dallas but I chose some well-known places and landmarks and will certainly return to Dallas hopefully for a lovely night session.
I'm still processing some images but there won't be many stitched ones. My PS or rather my PC kept having a hard time generating seamless transitions of 35 shots! Well, Nifty is not always the lens to shoot some wide angle shots. Even my 24-70mm couldn't handle some scenes. I wish I had a fish-eye lens. I also didn't want to schlep a tripod in this heat. Perhaps that was one of the reasons that the stitching didn't quite work out.
Here is a preview of what's to come in the next days along with some long stories

Wow...that is really nice Renata. I love that stained glass.

I know how it is with the pano's. My old 2009 iMac really
has a hared time these days with the pano. I use
Autopano giga to stitch them together and it works
really well and is easy to use. Unfortunately when it
comes to doing any fine tuning in Aperture my Mac just
slows to a crawl. I am working on some more pano's of
murals, but it is really slow going.

Renata, the stained glass is beautiful. Looking forward to the back-story. Is the bull/cow something to do with a bank?

ENifty here! Well, I think it must have been my birthday yesterday! I got a lens hood all to myself and it's quite a special lens hood. It comes in two parts - one screw-in ring that fits into the filter thread and, separately, a clip-on hood. The neat thing about it all is that my lens cap can easily be removed with the hood in place and the polarizer filter can be fitted AND turned without removing the hood part. How neat is that? Mam always complains that hoods need to be removed to turn the polarizers which is a bit of a pain, but now I have the best hood!

To top it off one of my photos got on Flickr Explore late yesterday! I haven't posted it here yet but Mam put it up on Flickr - here it is.

Thank you, Annie. I'm in the middle of writing some stories and may take me a while but I will definitely post some this weekend. The bull/cow has nothing to do do with a bank Perhaps, indirectly More later.
