That's exactly what I've done, I would say that actually, I'll have lost just over the £400 myself having bought the 5D3 3 years ago also. That's under £12 per month depreciation whilst I've had it ;-)a

Ok, with this new camera what is the better model for shooting BIF sports and aircraft shows?

Interesting question, as I'm into air show photography.

Compared to the 1DXII, it's about $2500 less expensive. That will pay for the 100-400 II lens, if desired.

And 30mp means more pixel density than the 1DXII. Even with a long lens I some times need to crop a lot.
Those little aerobatic planes can fly high into the sky. The extra pixels may help.

The slower frame rate and small buffer can be a disadvantage at times. But it's not a deal breaker for me.
But I have not studied the 5D4 specs completely, so I don't know how the AF performance of the two
cameras compare. I did read one comment that says they have a lot in common.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

so very fortunate to be able to get this camera so soon. I can't wait to have a single camera in my hands for 4+ years.

what does it add?

A lot, so it would probably be best to read about here:

So, you guys were not interested in the ISO performance? Samples were provided. I would like to know your opinions on how much better it is compared to 5D3.

I may need to upgrade. I love my 5dIII but I miss the wifi I had with the 6d and an eyefi is just horrible. The ability to use live view and the touch screen focus would be nice in some situations.

Very interested, but until raw files are available all you're getting is JPEG images provided from controlled sources; so it's not really going to give a full picture.

True. For me, JPEG (even on screen) is real world use and that's usually what the client will get. I have no way of knowing if the sample photos have been tweaked in post but still looks somewhat promising to me. Bear in mind that I'm comparing to MkII noise.

Definitely want to know the DR and high ISO results. This would be a huge upgrade over my 7Dc

JPEG samples are pretty meaningless to me as it includes in camera processing, which tends to be overbearing and smears detail. It's nothing like the actual RAW or the end product I would produce from a RAW.

Lets not forget about the weight and size of the camera. Not everyone likes to uses the grip that the 1d series cameras.

I am quite happy not to have a grip attached to my camera.

The 5D4 actually weighs less than the 5D3. Some icing on the cake, really.

I am talking about DR and noise with high ISOs. If those photos are JPEGs with the smeared detail, the RAW files should be pretty good.

This must be the most acronyms I have used in a while.
