some interesting new rumors.

Sony Medium Format

“Sony will introduce a Camera utilizing the IMX161 Image sensor soon. This Sensor has 50 MPixel on an area of 44x33mm (Middle format). Details still are a bit fuzzy but will be revealed soon
So resolution and low light performance will be even better than on the A7R2″

Sony A9 A9r:

“The Sony A9r will not get a new 70+ FF sensor due the Kumamoto sensor production damage. There will be two new A9 cameras with bigger A7 alike body and new battery grip:
a9:
– 24 mp (new sensor)
– 400 AF points on the entire frame
– 14 fps
– ISO 50-204800
– Shutter speed: 30″-32000
– dual XQD slot
a9r:
– 42mp BSI
– 400 AF points on the entire frame
– 8 fps Buffer 40 RAW
– ISO: 50 – 102400
– Shutter speed: 30″-32000
– dual XQD slot
– weather sealed

There will be also a new A to E-mount adapter. Price of both cameras will be around $5,000.”

Next generation Sony A7 (or A9?):

The current A7 range was made from existing internal parts ‘forced’ into a new form factor to see how the market reacted to that style of camera. Obviously Sony’s experiment was fruitful so the next range will be made to measure and designed from the ground up to work in such a style of camera

Sony A99II:

“Killer speed af, 36 mpix bsi chip, 4k, 5axis ibis, dual slot, dual 2core bionz x2 cpu’s, weather proof”

Olympus 35mm FE lens:

Olympus Zuiko 35mm lens f/2.0. It WILL be branded as Zuiko and not Sony or Sony/Zuiko.

I am always sceptical about anything I read in SAR these days unless there's a link to a manufacturers actual info. In the last couple of weeks a tokina 20mm f/2 and a Sony 50 macro has been released and there wasn't a sniff of it until it was actually out! So that to me shows how many reliable sources SAR actually have (I.e possibly none). I still visit the site regularly though as its a good place to check known information but like I say the rumours are a farce

Olympus Mirrorless fullframe, that's a very welcome competition.

My return to photography has been short lived. I gotta get rid of my gear unfortunately. If anyone is looking for a backup body or another lens check out this thread where I'm selling my A7 and 35 2.8.

Congrats on the pregnancy. Good luck with your sale. If you can somehow swing it so that you can keep your camera and lens you have the perfect memory maker when the baby comes though

Add all the native 50's together and MM finally has his 500mm lens, lol.

I doubt the a7r series ever sees the $2,XXX price point again. When was the last time you saw a newer model in a particular series cheaper than the previous model? Especially with Sony, if anything the price always goes up (RX100, a6000 to a6300, a7 to a7ii). I would expect a a7rIII to come in around $3,500-3,700 and a a9 to be $4,500 or so. Begs the question if they would even release two models and how they would differential the two.

Haha :) Yep, was just looking at the 50mm macro and it's not rumor.

First time plying the MP-65 on the A7Rii. This lens is a beeatch on a Canon but much easier on the Sony. Sill it was windy
but at least the Sun was out finally after over 10 days of gloom/rain. Still used the flash, Nissin i40, and the MagSphere-
