I just bought a used 17-40L for my full-frame wide angle shots. I was hoping it would work well on the 1DX2, and the two of you have shown that it does. :-)

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Clouds are finally back. Adding a little drama.

This is by software raid, it will use up to 10% of your CPU and 200mb ram too.

From time to time computer or software freeze and need cold reboot, what will this impact on OWC's software raid volume after each freeze and hard reboot? Or even loose power!

Also, do you need to power down OWC before turn off your computer?

The above is my main concerns that stop me moving from NAS's hardware raid to OWC's software raid.

Yes, it is software RAID, but today's modern machines can handle it with ease. It doesn't slow my system down and since I have 32 GB of RAM, I'm not concerned if it uses up to a couple of hundred megabytes of Ram.

My OWC RAID and my computer are connected to an UPS, so I am not concerned about power outages. I can power down my iMac without having to power down the OCW RAID and a software freeze has not had any effect on my RAID.

I have all the NAS, Time Machine, another remote NAS ..... So I though I was safe.

But end up deleted some of my photos without noticed (human error). So after couple backup.... they were gone with the wind.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you not go back in Time Machine to retrieve the accidentally deleted photos? That is one of the great features of Time Machine: the ability to go back in time and retrieve things.

Cheers,
Bryan

The trouble was I did not realize that I have deleted those files until yrs later, which I also cleaned some old backup versions

I'm not really into landscapes so much these days but I have to say the 1DX2 does pretty well.... These are minimal edits, single exposures. First one was resting on a wobbly fence post, second one i went back another night with a tripod. Brixham Harbour, Devon.

They don't appear to have uploaded well, they're a lot sharper in real life!
