I think that is what I would be looking at with the D800's getting so low in price.Combine that with the 36mp sensor that can be switched over to the DX mode and you have quite a solid dslr/lens combo for your type of photography.

Of course the Nikon Coolpix P900 could be a game changer for me. If I'm impressed enough with the 24-2000 zoom it just might make me sell all my other Nikon gear. ;-)a

Just dont expect to much the lens range is great but bridge cant cut it with crop or esp FF for IQ work, just from my experience.

Realistically speaking I don't expect much out of the P900, just something that is respectable in overall image quality.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

I'm waiting till after Photokina on the unlikely chance Nikon announces a new high MP D810 replacement, but if they don't I'll probably pick up a used 800 or 800e. Prices are dropping so low its probably the best value Nikon body now. I'm seeing them on the local craigslist all the time for 1200, which means you can probably offer 1100 and someone will bite. I've been watching them on ebay for the last month, and I've seen a couple finish bidding at 1000 too, but I'm wary of ebay and bodies in case there's any issues...prefer to check it out in person. Either way it's probably more than enough camera for most people and they're currently going for 1/2 or even less of the other newer bodies (750, 500, 810). Used a students 800 a while back and was definitely impressed too...can't wait to get my own now lol
