I spent 3 weeks in Tanzania this July. Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and the Serengeti.

We were hoping for a good Crossing but it never materialized.

Some of the favorites

The Baboon was shot at ISO 6400 to test the 1DX MK2s ability!

Very nice! I think July is a bit early for the crossing generally. Was this your first trip to the area?

In July they were crossing. I was in the Mara on July 26th and they had already crossed over from Tanzania. They were doing their crossing in the Mara going from the Mara Triangle to the National Reserve and back to the Triangle.

We were just behind the main crossings the third week of July, we managed to get a small crossing maybe 500 strong but couldn't get close enough for
decent pics..

I was in one crossing from the Mara Triangle to the Masai Mara Park area and it must been a few thousand. The crossing went on for for 30 or more mins. My driver and even the other drivers in my camp had never seen a crossing that went on that long they said. It was insane!!

Yes it is. I was there last year and went back again this year. The only reason I am not going back again in 2017 is that I had a credit with a dive resort I had to use or I would lose it.
