Nice shots eddie...particularly the first. Really cool composition.

The Johnson space center is here in houston...pretty similar to the one in Florida. I always find it interesting how fascinated people from out of town are with it. It's really interesting stuff but something that we take for granted here.

Excited to see your photos of it. Also can't wait to see what you produce in disney.

Thanks!. Yeah I wondered if the locals would take it for granted a bit, its like back home where theres landscapes all around and I always feel theres nothing to shoot as I see it all the time. Kennedy Space center is somewhere ive wanted to go for as long as I can remember so it was an amazing experience. Seeing the space shuttle Atlantis was amazing too.

With regards to Disney we were at our first park today (Animal Kingdom) and I went against all my plans and took 3 lenses. Ive been walking around with the camera and 3 Batis lenses everywhere and its been perfect. My original plan for disney was my small bag that only allows camera and 2 lenses and then the B25/FE55 combo or FE35/FE55 combo to have minimal size and just enjoy the park but what I saw today was that the parks are very photogenic. The way they have them set up is amazing. Took a few shots today in "Asia" and honestly if you didnt know I was at Disney you would think I was in Nepal. I think Im going to continue with the Batis lineup for the rest of the parks. Ive got Disney hollywood studios tomorrow

I was at the Kennedy Space Center yesterday. Great experience, highly recommended if you have an interest in space and NASA

Fantastic! The colors really pop on my 30" display.

I worked for NASA in Houston for 14 years and have many fond memories there. I got to visit KSC for work and sure wish I was into photography more seriously back then. We were driven around the launch pad and got to see the shuttle hangar up close. So impressive. Shuttle launch was attempted 3 times but was scrubbed each time. That was my biggest regret of the trip. It launch a few days later after our trip ended.

Enjoy your trip Eddie and thanks for sharing these images.

Worked for NASA for 14 years 8-)8-)8-) You may have seen on the news that the SpaceX rocket exploded the other day. It was due to launch the day we were there so a bit annoying. We got to see the rocket though with the black explosion marks when we were on our tour of the launch pads. Theres a NASA launch on the 8th but its at 7pm so trying to work out if I can catch a view from somewhere. Its a bit late for Callum though as its about 90 mins away

All of the Disney parks are very photogenic that it's hard not to photograph it and if I leave my gear behind I always feel I'll regret it. Hollywood studios is under construction right now so maybe not as photogenic right now, but the star wars stuff is really cool. Make sure to catch the storm trooper march!

Yeah I spotted this view with the rocket sticking up as I was leaving and held back until all the other tourists moved out the way to catch the shot.

Heres another one from the Space Center - This is Alan Shepards spacesuit from Apollo 14. He wore this suit on the moon

post as many as you like :) nice seeing them, one of those days I want to go there.

Awesome Travis. This is just a refinement of your image in the weekly thread, not a completely different image, so feel free to go ahead and update your post with this one.

Thanks. I will leave the other...went with it and don't want to change...keep it pure that way...

Very cool. Really neat seeing the Space Shuttle Rocket lurking in the background. The color and clarity is just amazing with the Batis lenses...I just got to get 'em. :)

you and me both...I am renting the B18 for my trip to the Outer Banks in two weeks...gonna see how I like shooting native...it might get expensive...

Sorry, I said that was my last one but then I opened another beer and edited another image. (PS - How easy to drink is Miller Lite! Wish I got that back home)

This is the command module Kitty Hawk also from Apollo 14. Its incredible how 3 people fitted in this thing and even more incredible how it survived re-entry

Great shots of the exhibits Eddie, with all the lights and reflections it can be a real challenge to get a clean photograph.

Since we're on a Space theme...last month I ran into Greg Johnson who was the command pilot of STS-134 Endeavour the 2nd to the last shuttle launch.

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

I've had the good fortune to be a NASA guest at the last launch of STS-133 Discovery. It's an amazing experience to see a Shuttle launch in person. Even though I was 3 miles away and a hazy afternoon, I got a fairly decent shot or two. I took it with a Canon 1DIV and a 100-400 so the link to the launch shot is HERE (external link).

My worst day in college while attending K-State: I watched the live broadcast of the Challenger launch. The President's words, televised later that day, were extremely touching and still bring me to tears. So sad. The men and women that travel to space, they are so so brave.

I was 9 and in 3rd grade...we were watching it live on TV...even at the age of 9, we all knew what just happened...a few years later I lived in Houston and we often went to the NASA Space Center there....odd the things we remember and how they come back from time to time...

Hehe its fun seeing the US through your eyes. Cultural relativism has always been interesting to me. Miller lite really is drinkable, but has sort of a bad reputation here. The dark heavy stuff that you have where you from is trendier here in the states.

A "leading line" composition. This is as much an experimental attempt at turning dog poop into chocolate cake as anything. A totally bland setting, but I liked the sunset and liked the way the sunset glinted off the rails that work as the leading lines. The tilt-shift blur was added in PS.

I shot this with my most underrated and least-used lens: the wee little Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM. I need to change my attitude about that lens and shoot it way more often. It's sharp and has nice rendering to it that I like and it's super light.
