My entry for the weekly challenge. Not at all happy with the 200 or so shots I took at the beach tonight. I was going for a specific composition, with leading lines in mind. But was not at all satisfied with the outcomes.
Instead, I got a few unexpected keepers from the compositions I spent the least time on. Go figure.

And I'm gonna ask Gene to check my horizons on this one. Had a tough time getting it right due to the perspective slant added by the posts.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Very nice. I like the colors on this edit and this shot more than the other ones. Overall, an amazing series, Carlo. Great stuff. You nailed that Disney vibe, that's for sure.

Thanks Nadim! Yes this one stands out as its not a typical type of shot. The base exposure was actually pretty evenly lit.....I used a couple of layers of darken lighten center at varying sizes and luminosities to simulate the candle-lit looking exposure.

You mean "no one cares" or "no one minds" ?

I mean no one cares in the sense that no one minds.

My house shot got explored on Flickr today...second explore in consecutive weeks! It's always a delight to get that. And always confounding when you feel your best shots don't get the Explore. Oh well, I never fuss about what I don't get and take pleasure in what I do get. :)

BTW, today's #1 is another Dubai masterpiece (external link) by our fellow a7R II user: Albert Dros. He makes amazing images with the FE 16-35mm.

Maybe we can consider changing that. I think I would enjoy seeing images from Sony's APS-C cameras here as well. I know that some people here have posted their a6000 or a6300 images here and no one cares.

maybe have mods change title to 'sony lounge' ?
I've been thinking about that for awhile..

Nadim? :P

I'd love to go shoot Dubai one of these days. It's a cityscape/architecture photographers wet dream!

David agreed, best 'house' shot I've ever seen!
I've been explored 62 times but that was years ago; haven't been for almost two years-I guess i've been blackballed.
So where were these skies last night when I needed them. Tonight we simply drove across the lake
for the last Milky Way of the year; soon enough here the core
will be gone :( Last night the winds were howling, tonight not a wif. Here at the cabin it is warm=56F; nothing like last night's night hike for the 'leading line'. Oh well
who can control Mother Nature :)
So a Milky Way from Ripshin Lake looking across at my cabin using the A7Rii and the e-mount Rok 14/2.8-

One of those is the video but after copious rounds of potato vodka I can't tell which is which :) but I think it is the first link .

Hehe its fun seeing the US through your eyes. Cultural relativism has always been interesting to me. Miller lite really is drinkable, but has sort of a bad reputation here. The dark heavy stuff that you have where you from is trendier here in the states.

Back home I drink Stella but our own lagers (tennants being the most popular) are really nice but can bag you up with the gas. Miller lite and bud lite here are like drinking water that happens to get you drunk :)

I had not heard about the rocket explosion. Will read up on it. That is so disappointing to hear.

You should be able to catch a good look at the launch anywhere near the coast. Good luck!

Here's a bit about it here http://www.wired.com …acex-explosion-need-know/ (external link)
