In the shot above you see a sculpture of sorts. I didn't have enough time to investigate what that was all about and I was on a mission to take Nifty through the sky bridges of Dallas. I stepped into another section of the glass sky bridges to take this shot. Remember, the polarizer on Nifty is of a lousy quality and this series is called Reflections.
The church is really nice called Cathedral Santuario de Guadalupe shot through another section of the sky bridges, hence the reflections.
When I entered a building at the end of this sky bridge, I decided to go outside, though it was hot and sticky as it usually is in Dallas at this time of year. I took a picture of the church from the street and decided to go inside. I was approached by a priest who asked me what I was doing. I expalined my mission and he told me that there was a mass inside and I should wait 10 minutes for the mass to finish, and so I did. But I took a partial shot of the front door. If I was to shoot the entire door with Nifty. I would have been in the middle of a busy intersection and you would have been notified of my death :)

I had some time to kill before the end of the mass as I really wanted to see that church inside...not that I'm religious. But just wanted to record the interior for this thread.
I took a picture of what was in front of me. Same old story, the Chase Tower plaza courtyard with its lovely domed gym. Some images have the highlights completely blown out. Well, although I shot bracketed, I realized that I may not have enough time to merge them into something decent, so I just posted what I took; all minimally processed except for the panoramas for which the nifty is so unsuitable :)
The first image depicts the Wells Fargo (external link) tower and the second one shows the Chase gym.

Before I exited the Chase Tower, I saw a hair salon with some glittery chandeliers. I'm sure it';s a rip off based on its looks :)
And this is what I saw at the intersection of Ross Avenue and Ross Street. NE corner

I'm looking at Pearl Street in the opposite direction from the church,
Next shot is inside the church :)

Some detail inside the church. A foo t rest, I suppose. And an image I missed inside the Plaza of the Americas. This caught my attention. Some light beams split by a piece of glass in the high ceiling that acted like a prism :)

Great stuff Renata.

I am home now. 2300 km for the round trip. I have some interesting stuff to edit through. Here is a teaser from before I left Vancouver.

The first one is a pano from the end of False Creek part by the new Canucks Stadium.

This is a throw back to my youth. False Creek was home to the worlds fair in 1986 called Expo '86. The building in the picture was the Imax pavilion. Now it is The Telus Science World(www.scienceworld.ca), which is an interactive science center great for families.

OMG, you're such a trooper. 2300km is a long trip. I'm glad you're home now; hopefully you will get some rest.
I'm looking forward to seeing your images. No rush, take your time.

What a wonderful start to the Canadian Nifty's continuing journey!

Love your shots Trever. Glad that you made it home safely.
That is actually BC Place, the football stadium with the
new roof that cost $500,000 when it was replaced.
I love walking around in that area.

More great shots Renata. Dallas has some great buildings. I also
am a sucker for public art and sculptures. The church is a beauty as well.

Kevin, thank you! You're so kind.
I will have a whole lot of images with public art and sculptures. In the next few days; I'm so behind. I spent all day last Sunday shooting sculptures in the Arts District of Dallas. All images have been edites and are ready to go. I just need to find some time between work, family life and some small enjoyments of life :)

On Fri. night in the summer months here in North Vancouver there is
a market called the Shipyards Market. It has arts, crafts, fresh fruit and
vegetables, live music and lots of food trucks. It started very small and
has grown into a very busy place.

The area is named after the shipyards that used to reside in this spot and
are still operating right beside it.
