I'm not really into landscapes so much these days but I have to say the 1DX2 does pretty well.... These are minimal edits, single exposures. First one was resting on a wobbly fence post, second one i went back another night with a tripod. Brixham Harbour, Devon.

They don't appear to have uploaded well, they're a lot sharper in real life!

They look awfully sharp to me! (In a good way.)

Cheers,

While I was driving home from a local birding park this morning, I got a call from a friend asking if I might photograph her dog for a pet photo contest. Since I had a reasonable amount of gear with me and the skies were nice, I said sure - how 'bout now? We met & went to a park near her house and barely got started before she stood on a fire ant mound and got 100+ bites on one of her legs. Needless to say, that put a quick end to the session but I think we got her a number of suitable shot.

The cup bagel are because the bagel shop is sponsoring the contest.

Thanks smythie. The dog was a real ham, so it was a lot of fun - short lived, but fun. :)

that is really good - i would crop it slightly tighter to remove the most if not all of the shadow in the lower right corner - it also magnifies the couple slightly yet still keeps everything you have done

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

On the other hand, my wife and I think Daniel got it right. The shadow creates a frame around the couple and helps draw our eyes to them. Photography is so subjective...

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Same, the shadow kinda mirrors the rock above - and draws a line from bottom left corner to the couple. I think it would have less impact if cropped.
