Is it a trophy, or will anybody actually use them for photos? :D

I see one picture of a dog so far, but several of the camera itself!

as I get closer to receiving mine I'm not as excited as I thought I would of been. I'm super glad everyone is getting theirs, I'm also super glad some that waited are not getting discounts. Normally I hold out... wait for the imports to really come down in price. I'm sure that in 3 months you could probably get an import for 3k.

For some reason though... I just want my tool back. Sold the 5D3 on august 18th.... been limping by on the 80D which after the 1st baseball scrimmage I'm just not that into it. I have tracking information now and know my camera will be in my hands tomorrow and I'm just more relieved than excited. Ready to put it to use... not play with it. The price thing... well I dunno maybe I've change... nah probably not I'm still a cheap butt but I've already factored in the depreciation/owning cost of this new camera and I have a very very strong feeling that this will be a 5yr camera for me maybe even longer who knows. In the end I'm relieved that there will be a bit extra in the camera to make my job of capturing my kids moments easier and/or better than before.

Mostly likely I will be coming home tomorrow... grabbing the camera throwing it in my bag and heading straight to an Astros game (as a spectator)

ISO 12800 looks pretty good to me!

ran the raw file through DPP and exported as TIFF then edited in LR5

sharpening 85 luma nr 25 colour nr 25

sigma 50 art seems to hit focus no issues out of box no adjustment required

auto focus snappy AF and able to acquire focus in pretty dark lighting conditions, 7 fps sounds faster than expected

Limping along with a 80D?!! You act like it's years old...LOL! That's a camera most people would love to own.

I'm thinking this camera is too expensive. Even though I could swing it, I'm thinking of what the best scheme would be to get some money back. I have looked at opening a new credit card because there's some good promotions available. Best Buy has 10% back of the 1st purchase, for example. eBucks, Mr. Rebate...what else is out there?

Does Adorama charge sales tax for online orders (out of state)?

No out of state tax with Adorama since they don't have any stores or offices other than NY and NJ.

I used eBates and I have their credit card. So I got 2.5% plus 3% on top.

I use Mr Rebates, eBates and CouponCabin - http://www.1kindphotography.com …ebates-cashback-site.html (external link)

I reckon you peaked too early... Excitement wise. :-)

I bet you will be happier than pig in mud when you get it.

I was just thinking that if you live in a state like Oregon (no sales tax), you can order from Amazon and get the $200 in-store credit, plus charge it to any credit card (or the Amazon store card) that gives 5% back, and you'll end up with the camera costing you $3124. That's pretty tempting, I've got to admit. If I wasnt in the market for a 5DsR, I'd be jumping all over that!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
