That was me who said the phone... What I meant was there is always that option. I understand if your needing it all the time that may not be a good option OR shooting above your head is not an option etc. There are times I found the swivel screen useful and recognize when it is BUT canon did not put that feature on this camera but provides cameras that do.

I own an 80D. I can say it is a very capable camera but it's also lacking in many features the 5D offers.

For me I prefer the larger 3.2" screen of the 5D vs the 3" of the 80D. It could be just me but for me it seems the 80D is alot smaller. I cannot wait to see how the 1.6m pixel 3.2" of the 5D4 looks

To be fair, it's less than half the price. Hardly surprising that it doesn't have all the features.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I called Amazon after seeing the posts and the Cust Rep told me he wasn't sure of any problems but also that he didn't see any cameras shipping. I ordered at 11:05pm MST on the 24th. Checked Best Buy and they had 3 left in stock so I raced down and snatched one up. Showed them the $200 credit from Amazon and they knocked $200 off the battery grip. I still end up paying the $280 in sales tax but at least I have a camera to take to Europe next week! Should Amazon ship tonight I'll take this one back to BB.

It's 23 clicks for the CF card (analyzed the audio in audacity)...

*LOL* I've just sat down (having gotten home from work) and was planning on getting the audio from the YouTube video in order to analyse it in Audacity. I'm glad that:

b) You've just saved me the time ;-)a

exactly.

Now do the same test at ISO 6400 and see how many you get.

Good point! You've just reminded me of the question I had on the way home... and had forgotten :)

Was that test at ISO 100? If it was at a higher ISO then fewer shots would be expected as the noise makes the files bigger. My ~40 shots on the 5D3 was at ISO 100. Based on the average difference between file sizes, I'd guess maybe around 32 for ISO 6400 images.

In short: I'm hoping jonneymendoza's test was at a higher ISO!

Here's a RAW file provided from this photographer's site (external link).

I downloaded the latest DPP using my 5D3s serial.

With this file, the Bokeh Shift is not that big a deal. Hopefully we can get better implemention ala video focusing. If that's even possible with a firmware update.

So far from what I have seen the dual pixel raw feature is not that impressive. Hopefully, everyone is doing it wrong. -?

I can't see Canon putting something on the Mk4 that wouldn't be ready for prime time, if you know what I mean.;-)a

If I understand it, when using this feature it will double your file size and limit your buffer. So I can't see anyone shooting in this mode all the time, doesn't make sense to me. Maybe more for changing the bokeh, rather than microfocus?

Has anyone heard of Adorama shipping any? I really want to stick with them, but I don't want to sit around forever waiting to get an e-mail saying that it shipped without having some sort of time frame to know when mine will ship out. There are at least 5 Best Buys near me with around 3 in stock at each of them... Really tempted to cancel my Adorama order and hit up a Best Buy so I can have it for a job on Saturday and/or Sunday. Only thing stopping me from cancelling is the fact that Helen Oster bends over backwards with her customer service so I want to give her store my business. Decisions, decisions... I guess I'll decide in the morning.
