Fantastic, fully agreed, a devil to get.

I agree swallows in flight are really hard. I wonder if my tamron 150-600 could ever get this.

Taking bird pics from my bedroom window on the third floor (fourth floor in America) is usually not a very good idea but I still do it and sometimes it actually gives me something nice. Like this dorsal view of a Grey Heron flying by over the canal and beneath my window at the closing of the day. I just thought the semi-circle wing span was pretty cool.

Did you start AF in flight or when he was pearched?

Osprey on Rottnest Island just off the coast of Perth WA. The nest is reported to be more than 70 years old with each new generation adding to it

Thank you Lester. I focused on the feeder and then using the back button to stop focusing I moved the camera to remove the feeder and waited for the birds to arrive. I've used this technique with hummingbirds as well.

Thanks. I have tried this but tend to find the AF does not keep track, this is with the 150-600 however.
