An informal portrait at lunchtime of a colleague, using my new-to-me EF 100-400 Mk II.
A viewer at work stated that it had a High School yearbook kind of feel, but I view it as a nice image that was made in a jiffy.
The subject ultimately benefited from standing there for a whole 3 minutes (he got many other images as well).

I really like the lens and I love the 1DX Mk II. I bet I come to love the lens, once I get to use it some more.

As a general rule from a cropping of humans in portraits, you don't want to 'chop off' people's hands - either include the entire hand or crop it tighter above or below the elbow.

The Sardis Raptor Center gave a presentation at the Skagit River Salmon Festival yesterday. I hadn't seen a Eurasian Eagle Owl before. It's acknowledged as the largest species of owl in the world. It is a magnificent bird. These shots don't do it justice, but I was once again amazed by the level of detail captured by the 1DX2.

On the field. I shoot for a university publication. Although you CAN bring cameras here but your lens is limited to 6 inches.

I guess I posted too quickly, just like the shoot went.

Thanks for the reminder. In time (and with luck) hopefully it will sink-in.

(My colleague did get others that were cropped as you suggested; I just did not publish those in my haste.)
