Whoa this is awesome. When in spain this summer I tried something similar but the dunes are no way as big, bright and clean as this!

Just processed two more images from the vacations. First is a church in the small town we stayed. Its a fantatic town for beach, bars and nightlife... And food of course :)
Second one is in Gibraltar viewing from europe to africa (marroko). To bad I forgot my FE90 in the hotel so the 50 lux was the longest lens I had. Luckily its also a sharp lens :)

The Batis 18 works well for astrophotography. Nice wide angle with good coma control and sharp. I don't like the fly by wire manual control. It's not as precise as the true manual lens like the Loxia 21. No a deal breaker though.

I don't know big the 16-35 is but it is certainly a good performing lens from all accounts I have read. You are right that it will be your most versatile lens which can accept filters. Batis 18 can accept filters too. The Loxia 21 can but it requires step down rings.

For portability and an excellent performer, you am can't go wrong with the Loxia 21. Works fine for astrophotography too. If you need wider, you can stitch.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty much narrowed down to either the Loxia or the Batis. They are both excellent and have their own advantages so it's a tough decision. I prefer the Loxia if the focal length will work for me... It's good and bad to have all these options!

Is anyone looking to sell either a Batis or Loxia soon? I thought I would ask here first. I always prefer buying used, but these lenses go fast and I always miss my opportunity.

It's really frustrating and much more of a problem now with Sony and a smaller user base. I got spoiled shooting Canon for so long.

Yeah, I was in the Canon camp too, know exactly what you mean.

It got a lot better this and end of last year, though. I think with the A7RII a lot more people are considering a switch to sony. I guess its the 3rd party lenses for sony that is even more niche. Add to it that the better a product is, the less people sell it

Great choices. I would put the Loxia 21 ahead of the Batis by a bit mainly because I love the way it renders, excellent star bursts, and compactness. I love the all metal construction and aperture ring. Only minor issue is mounting the lens. It all rotates except for a narrow middle section.

Btw, I need to proofread before I hit the submit button my phone. That last entry of mine had so many errors. Oops. Haha.

Samyang have announced a 14 f2.4 and a 85 F/1.2 lens. The 85 is canon only but the 14 will be available in e mount (although it will be dslr sized with built in adaptor). It's part of their premium line apparently
