This wetland gets some nice fall colors too. In the spring there is a Blue Heron / double crested Cormorant rookery just across the river in the taller Cottonwood trees. I've been shooting White Pelicans near the dam where they gather with cormorants and Common Merganser to nab salmon milling around below Chief Joe. The Ospreys have abandoned their nests and are migrating away now, Turkey Vultures will soon follow and the Pelicans are starting to leave now. Next up Bald Eagles will be returning soon for the winter. I love living in this area. :-)

We've been in Washington state for 24 years, but we've only been photographing for 5. The photography gives us a very new and different perspective. We enjoy the hobby and the state very much.

I'd love to see some real world examples of pushing shadows. Anyone got something for me -- pretty please? :-)

This place has a couple different samples.

The couch is one of his favorite places, but he does show up much better on something like green grass. I'll get one of those shots in here in the not too distant future.

What I can't understand is why Canon can't get Adobe to work closely with them ahead of time with the right NDAs so that a new LR version is released at the same time as the camera. This kind of stuff happens all the time in the computer industry with drivers, etc. It seems like it would really boost the excitenent among the end users to be able to use their usual programs and generate good data on the camera's performance.

And Adobe had Nikon D500/D5 compatibility at launch.

Hand held or on a tripod/gimbal?

Either way that is enough for me to rethink this body over a used 1DX.

My cameras are my ticket to the great outdoors. I've done so much exploring of NorthCentral WA over the last couple of years - as well as a 3 trips to Africa (Namibia/Tanzania). I see so much more - or at least pay attention.
