I've never been able to get into the flash for birds, I know some really like it, I shoot everything without. I have a blind but for the birds in my yard I need nothing.

Jeff sometimes it's medical necessity=flash. Honestly I don't like it either.....but here in the clouds what do I do ? wait for 3 weeks? I know! I'll move to Minden

Man I hear ya on the temperature drops. Very cool at night now but afternoon is still heating upper 70's.

Hopefully, the big sigma can be repaired, and that the camera doesn't have any hidden damage.
Wasn't a good day... Went out fishing last evening and the steering linkage on my boat fell apart !

Well, all this talk about cameras dropping must have jinxed me ! Mine fell off the top of my tripod today, from full height, onto pavement.
I think my 7dii is ok, but my Sigma 150-600 is definitely not ok. Already on its way to Sigma for hopeful repair.

Shooz I really hate to hear that. Fingers crossed for you. As stumbly as I'm getting just a matter of time for me.

Charles I was just using a teleconverter. I ran it and the lens through the focus program and that my first real world test.
