I've never been able to get into the flash for birds, I know some really like it, I shoot everything without. I have a blind but for the birds in my yard I need nothing.

You guys are fast edit with the second image !!

American Kestrel portrait. In Europe this bird is known as "Sparrow Hawk".

O Dave ,.... Cap

Hopefully, the big sigma can be repaired, and that the camera doesn't have any hidden damage.
Wasn't a good day... Went out fishing last evening and the steering linkage on my boat fell apart !
Should have stayed in bed yesterday !

Well, all this talk about cameras dropping must have jinxed me ! Mine fell off the top of my tripod today, from full height, onto pavement. vmad
I think my 7dii is ok, but my Sigma 150-600 is definitely not ok. Already on its way to Sigma for hopeful repair.

Shooz I really hate to hear that. Fingers crossed for you. As stumbly as I'm getting just a matter of time for me.

Charles I was just using a teleconverter. I ran it and the lens through the focus program and that my first real world test.
