I could be wrong but I seem to remember Adobe taking about a month to add 5D3 RAW support for Lightroom but before that release it was possible to convert to DNG with their converter. I would think they would be quicker with the 5D4. Sometimes not taking a photograph can be as problematic as taking one. - Alex Webb

Sep 15, 2016 15:35 | #2229 Oh and for the grip, I definitely think the battery holder piece is flimsier, different design (no more contacts on the battery holder itself, the contacts are inside the grip) and the AA battery holder is no longer an option (not that I ever used it or even carried it with me at all) gareymartin.com

I know that will be a jump but for concerts and indoor sports the 5D4 still seems like a tremendous jump. Anyone wanna talk me out of it? As for video... I don't do video and the potential in the 5D4, though limited, is still enough to get me moving to a dedicated device. I feel like by the time the limitations matter I'd be looking dedicated anyway.

The spot point that you can choose is a much finer selection that you can get more accurate than live view. no option of picking a finer point? For testing purposes though, I figure even large boxes are ok if your target is a checkerboard. We (photographers/videographers) are always going to be left behind, regardless of the body, unless you update every time a new body is released, be it Canon, Nikon, Sony etc.
