it hard to shoot at night with a black car with lights on handheld and natural light. no details on black. i have no control over this. if i do make i'll do HDR on a tripod. or do a 2 to 3 strobe setup.

it's just a zion frs with modified door. the owner said he just bought the door hence($900) that does that. same stock door.

Testing out this backdrop my wife bought. It's actually pretty cool since the tinsel creates these tiny specular highlights that show up as bokeh balls at the right aperture.

Also...was just messing around so in lieu of a softbox, I used a shoe mounted i40 with a flash bender and bounced off of a rear wall. Had to crank up the ISO because bounce flash does not have enough power to expose a shot at ISO 100 and f5.6....came out better than I expected. High ISO performance of the a7rII still surprises me.

recently i bought a used Sony E 30mm F3.5 Macro lens for $150 and a macro ring light

this:
https://www.amazon.com …age_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (external link)

can work as continuous light and a manual flash. It's 200% more power in flash mode.

here's what i got from my A6000

all no sharpening, all no crop and all handheld

my Minolta MC Rokkor 58mm F1.2

if you bounced to the real wall, you don't need the flash bender. you could had got more juice from your flash. correct me if i'm wrong. still a cool shot and backdrop. you're right about the bokeh.

I used the flash bender to flag the light and control the spill of the light so I get that directional shadow on her face. I basically don't want any direct light from the speedlight exposing her....just directional light bounced from a diagonal angle off the rear wall. It sort of turns the rear wall into a giant softbox placed at 45 degrees.

ive programmed c4 to flick between so if I'm taking a shot and the evf engages when I shouldn't I just press c4 and it changes to the lcd and stays there. It then reverts back to auto evf. However I'm going to try the light dims to save doing that

I did that on a group shot too. A group of 5 guys. I like side lighting but if do that on a group, the light will not be even. One side gets brighter so i bounced back but angle a bit so it won't become totally front lighting coming back at my subject.

There is one but it's not applied automatically. Select Zeiss from the drop down menu and then LR will select the lens profile. Not sure why it does that.

LR doesnt even show the option...my version, whih is up to date lists the 25 and 85...my LR has been pitching fits lately...crashes all the time...might need to reinstall when I get home.

because probably at some point you enabled this option.

if you set your Batis 18 profile, and then select "save new lens profile defaults" then every image with the same Exif lens name "E 18MM F2.8" or whatever its called, will have that profile applied in Lightroom.

Thank you! I will give it a try.
