With the arrival of the Mark IV, does it make the allure of the A7sII disappear? The A7sII plus metabones adapter weighs 26oz. The 5D4 weighs 28oz . That's a candy bar's worth of weight difference. Seems negligible. And if the IQ gap is largely closed, I would imagine the motivation to consider the Sony is not going to be there. Not trying to start a brand war, as the Sony is a fine camera, just curious.
I dont know anyone who would realistically compare the A7sii to the 5Div.....
A7rii is more comparable since it has phase detect AF, and many similar features. And the metabones factor.... uh you can shoot native to avoid, sony's selection is pretty decent currently. You may think the size savings is negligible, then try to shoot the EOS-M series, the size is closer to that than a dslr. Weight wise, the cameras are very dense so they weigh quite a bit, still noticeably less than any 5/6D.
