Hi All,

I've bought this lens used and didn't come with the manual, I know the weather sealing is completed with a front filter, but have no other details about it, do you think using it with a circular polarizer could be considered sealed?

Any personal experience is appreciated, i personally have used it near sea waves and didn't notice leakage over the circular rotating section.

What do you think?

Thanks much,

Bye

You will need a UV or clear filter for complete weatherseal.

Of course there is always a possibility the CPL will not be enough if you get hit by a wave, but for spray and the like it should be just fine. Personally I would consider it 'sealed' for spay and light rain.

Of course weather sealed lenses are not 100% waterproof anyway.

However, I must admit, usually when I am getting wet, I don't have a polarizer on my lenses.
