No.. You got it right! the first one was backlit, by putting the leaf over the flash (at a low setting  ).

I'm very much enjoying the images but have none to share myself. We're still having summer. People were swimming in the canals yesterday. We had a heat wave last week. In September! Crazy weather.

Crazy weather.

you're not wrong there, it's supposed to be spring and we've had rain for the past 5 days and forecast rain until Friday! can't see me getting anything worth shooting for this weeks' challenge unless there's a break in the weather and I post something late tomorrow....

some awfy nice shots posted this week though!

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

LOL ... After 30 years in the trucking business where snow was a mortal enemy, I've come to quite enjoy the stuff ߘ

Yes, the weather is crazy everywhere..
We had 110-degree temps, then 2 days of rain , and now it is Autumn, it will be just 99 today!!
At least the overnight temperatures are in the mid 70's, so we can turn off the A/C. :p

I was in the park today and looked really hard for signs of Autumn and what do you know, with a bit of imagination I found some... :-P

I stitched 3 shots together for this one. Not sure if they're brownish by nature or as a result of Autumn.

joayne, your still life has lovely textures. Did you grease the veggies to get those highlights, and is it natural light?

One thing that autumn brings is a coat of pollen on everything in our backyard. A worktable that we call the potting bench, although it doesn't see much potting:

The pollen comes from a huge pine in the next yard. This is a small part of the pine.
