my guess is he's near a curve and zoomed in?

One of my favorites from last nights outing. My new 50mm 1.8, not a bad lens for train shooting! I still prefer my zoom lens though. There were 6 trains that passed within 40 minutes! Like a kid in a candy store!

Taken at Dundas, ON back in Oct. 2014. One of my favourite locations once the fall colours start.

I was in a Cessna 210 on approach for a landing. I shared a print with the railroad, they liked the picture but commented that with that many trains in the yard there was a big problem on the line somewhere.

howdy.. first post.
this is the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS), A.C.T. Division's 3016 4-6-0 engine.
image was an oportunistic (is that a word?) one as I stopped on the way to a motorsport event I was shooting out of town back in July 2016.
gear used - Canon 7d Mk2 / Tamron 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD @150mm / 1/800sec / f8 / ISO200. initial processing in Lightroom 5.7 with detail added to the steam/smoke using a Lightroom plug-in called ON1 Effects Free 10.
cheers
Wayne

Well there's certainly no doubt about that being a steam engine.

Football is a very simple game. Twenty-two players chase a ball and Germany always win.
