If bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur, can there ever be too much of it?

Nathan wrote in post #18136663 (external link)
Aesthetic is qualitative, not quantitative. I love sweets, but too much and I am overwhelmed.

Angmo wrote in post #18136687 (external link)
Confused... That would be quantitative. (Big smiley EMO thingie here...)

Difference between much and many. You cannot quantitatively count things described with much. You can count things that are many. You can't count bokeh, but you can still have too much of it.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Bokeh and blur are NOT the same thing. Bokeh is the aesthetic quality of the blur. Bokeh depends on lens design.

Too much bokeh = too much aesthetic quality of blur.

That would probably describe a blur that's too smooth, too regular and too devoid of all kind of artifacts. I wonder how much would a lens delivering such a bokeh cost. ;-)a

I'm sorry, but many people - like myself - come to POTN to learn, and they shouldn't be misled.

DSLRController (external link) on the tablet. It's about as complete a camera control software package as I've seen.

Just wanna play with special effect ...slit lighting :)
I made a slit gobo from cinefoil that fit into Lightblaster projector (with Canon cheap 50mm f1.8 lens).
Try it on mannequin first at home and then to the model in the studio.
Triggered with YN622TX on Canon 5D2. I use dof preview button on the camera to activate speedlite modeling light (short burst of light) to help aiming the slit light.

Brilliant results, nixland, and the price is right gear-wise. :)

Be aware that DSLRcontroller is not developed anymore and the it a long time ago the last beta was released.

It is a good software that I have supported it a long time.

Last update on iOS was July 2016.

I have a couple of these as well as a couple of camrangers. They both have their strengths and weaknesses.
