Wow, I guess I never considered the 6D or the 24-105 as not great gear. To each their own I suppose.

All this crappy photographer can afford! :p
Actually, this was the first outing with the 24-105 a few months ago. I'm pretty happy with it.

One of first couple of shots with my new (to me) 6D. Unfortunately I had a 24-70 on rather than my 70-300.

+1 !

Thankyou all, my van is back with me, albeit with a clear rear window. Gets tinted tomorrow. My pocket has headache :( (no insurance)

Actually, this was the first outing with the 24-105 a few months ago. I'm pretty happy with it.

I have the original ultrasonic 24-105 L IS. Came with the 6D. While I was ok with it it never quite reached my expectations, I was a little disapointed with my first L lens. A few weeks ago I had the local Canon workshop 'match' the lens and camera as well as service the 6D. ( my tech expertise in that area is rated at around -11 :) )While it wasn't cheap the results have been truly astounding. My van pic back a bit was shot at wide open and that is quite a severe crop but the signage on the left is easily read and you can see the weave of the blanket on which I focused. The only problem with it I find is I would like a longer reach. Image quality is truly, very very good, and focus has certainly speeded up. I have seen reports that the usm version is at least equally as good.

I like that bridge pic Eric! :)
