Thank you all for nice words

Annie, I look trough your pictures and they are very good.
The most important is light, then background and then the main subject. I want my pictures to be something more than birds shooting.

Here is the picture for which it was worth to spent my time in the hide.

Amazing! You could definitely make some money on these images. I wish I had your patience.

If you don't mind, how much PP did you do on that shot? Just a high level. I'm trying to learn what I need to do to take my images to the next level. Thus far I've pushed to get what I want straight out of the camera. I play with the sliders in Lightroom for 5-10 minutes and call it good. I've recently started fiddling with a few more software packages, but I'm curious what others do. Thanks!

that shot was done by blending 3 different shots. it was getting dark but there was still a little light left. so i did a long exposure shot of the background without the car. then i did another long exposure shot with the car. then another shot light painting the car. all three layers were first edited in lightroom to get the correct exposure, contrast, color, and WB. then i brought it into photo shop to merge all the layers using masks.

i used to try to do everything in lightroom before and tried to make it pop. but i found it easier and you can do much more in photoshop.

what you dont see is all the brush and gradient adjustments i did. its a combination of clarity, exposure, contrast, color, and saturation brushes and gradients. but it was all done in lightroom
