I know there are many options in that focal length, I have one of them in the DOii but me the broken down old fart has now over the last three days carried the 1DXii + 100-400ii almost 14 miles. OK it's Florida and it's flat but hot and sandy walking....just glad it's not been sugar sand, miles of that Allstate did me in at Havasupai. But down here there is something I don't have at home SUN. So in the mountains I still grab the DOii.

Very nice. If you don't mind sharing, how did you light the couple or did they just end up in the right spot?

Thanks Phoenix. We come down two-three times a year. Next trip in winter for the Spoonies, then in March
for Osprey nesting season. At home it is the same samie now and we wanted a break from the Cardinals ;) So
we've shot birds last three days. Today we're doing something different but that is Sony land.

This is what happens, ISO 25,600, shutter 1/5000, when the better-half grabs your camera for a shot.
Before she grabbed the 1DXii it was 800 and 1/1250! Regardless we kept the turtle from getting smushed
on the road he was trying to cross; and this after 3 hours of hiking in the rain.

Haha sorry! I don't know one from the other. Thanks for the ID. I did make sure it wasn't a snapper before scooping him up.

I went to a repair shop today to get a lens mount tightened and saw he had a beaten up old 1DX on his back counter. When I looked properly it was a 1DX Mark II ! he said someone had dropped it off a couple of months ago because they'd squashed the memory card slot pins. It looked like it had been kept in the back of a builders van and could only have been a month or two old when it was dropped off!

I used a single Godox V860 in a flash bracket fired in ETTL direct at couple. didnt feel like we needed a 2nd light to separate as we had side light and the back area was lit well from ambient and overhead lighting.
