The train had made a stop so we quickly took a series of shots in front of it. It's not supposed to be romantic in the traditional sense...they specially wanted something different. The rest of the shoot has them in football jersey's in front of street art lol. focalpointsphoto.com

Engagement photos are less often about being purely romantic and more about telling the story of the couple. It's honestly my favorite thing to shoot. I get that and it totally makes sense and I definitely get the idea of the shot... but having known someone who committed suicide by jumping in front of a metro train I also find the image a bit unsettling, though I'm sure I'm in the minority on that so please don't take it as a harsh criticism or anything, I generally love your work Fuji X-Pro2 // Fuji X-T1 // Fuji X-100T // XF 18mm f2 // XF 35mm f1.4 // XF 60mm f2.4 // Rokinon 12mm f2 // Rokinon 21mm f1.4 // XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 // XF 55-200mm f3.5-4.8 // Rokinon 85mm f1.4 // Zhonghi Lensturbo ii // Various adapted MF lenses

I don't find it harsh at all. Personal experience dictates the interpretation of an image....this is one of the fascinating things about photography. I watched my best friend wreck a motorcycle and consequently pass away so I get it...stuff like that sticks. David Arbogast wrote in post #18146699 ![]() Wow. Love this Carlo. I watched my best friend wreck a motorcycle and consequently pass away so I get it...stuff like that sticks. The real reason I shot this is because the light-rail is sort of an iconic part of downtown Houston....and they wanted to show that their love for the city. Thanks David! That makes sense. Like I said, I can certainly understand why such an image would be appealing and I get your thought process behind it, just doesn't sit right with me, I think a large part of it is because her eyes appear to be closed and his are open... just makes for a very ominous image to my mind. rcarlton wrote in post #18146706 ![]() I found it very unsettling for the same reason. I suppose the train track symbolizes the beginning of the journey. Unfortunately, with the train in the background it looks to be an ominous journey. My thoughts exactly. And I'm sorry for your loss. Downtown is nicely compressed behind the parking lots. Same for the stadium. Nice job nadim Sony A7RII | Sony A7S
