Engagement photos are less often about being purely romantic and more about telling the story of the couple. It's honestly my favorite thing to shoot. I don't find it harsh at all. Personal experience dictates the interpretation of an image....this is one of the fascinating things about photography. The real reason I shot this is because the light-rail is sort of an iconic part of downtown Houston....and they wanted to show that their love for the city. Thanks David! That makes sense. Like I said, I can certainly understand why such an image would be appealing and I get your thought process behind it, just doesn't sit right with me, I think a large part of it is because her eyes appear to be closed and his are open... just makes for a very ominous image to my mind. rcarlton wrote in post #18146706 I found it very unsettling for the same reason.
