I never see any hot pixels with the 20-30" exposures, regardless of ISO. With the foreground exposures though, there are quite a few- but nowhere near as bad as the canon 6d I had, which looked like confetti cake when zoomed into 100%. I don't use long exposure noise reduction, but I do take a dark frame with my lens cap on that matches the longest exposure I took over the course of the night, and then use pixel fixer in post. I usually just take the dark frame as I'm packing up the rest of my gear to go home once I'm done shooting. Easier to do that than wait an extra 8 minutes or whatever each time I take a long exposure, especially if I'm doing things like focus stack my foreground exposures

I'm not following. Can you explain this or maybe point me to a YouTube tutorial? Much appreciated! Thanks!

I had my 55-200mm aps-c DX lens out so I decided to try to get an image from it on my D750 FF and this is the result. I cropped it to get rid of the vignetting. Some figure that since the Aps-c lenses can render a sharp image on a sensor that has a pixelwidth of 4 microns (which exists on a 24mp aps-c sensor) then it can surely get a reasonably sharp image on a sensor that has a 6 micron pixelwidth (which is what a 24mp FF sensor possesses).

What camera did you use before the D750?

I used a Nikon D7000 (now my back-up) and a D200 before that.

As you can see in my profile I have a D5100 which has the same sensor as your D7000 and I noticed a big change in low light noise and low light focusing ability. The increase in megapixels from 16 to 24 make a big difference in detail, so cropping is better also.

I noticed the same thing when I upgraded from the D200 (which was wonderful in its time) to the D7000.

The D750 is worth another jump up. I can literally shoot in the dark with this camera. Noise is rarely a problem. Sharpness is incredible. And on and on. BTW: Adorama just marked it down to $1,896.95. It's better than the $2300 I paid but it's still up there.

Hi everyone,

I am going crazy over my D750 and the flash 500 always Nikon.
If I set up in Aperture Mode I can use the flash in Slow, but both in Manual and Speed mode I can't, only in Rear.
Is that normal or Is there some thing else I don't figure out?
Thank you

The "3d" quality you've achieved is impressive.
