From my assignment yesterday. If the publisher likes it ill have a few pics in the American Archaeology Magazine

The Archaeologist was wanting to get shots of petroglyphs in relation to the landscape. Petros are hard to shoot anyway but they get lost in landscape. Did what I could.

This would have been my favorite shot but someone tagged it. Its not an easy hike and this was the only tag .... someone actually deliberately hiked here and did this.

No this is the only one I got due to a bit of a mistake I made. I had been photographing the Milky Way the night before and was having a few Stella's at the same time. When I went back into the campervan for the night I set the alarm for sunrise. The next morning I woke up without an alarm and peered out the window to realise I had slept in by an hour and the sun was just about to pop up. I literally ran outside, setup and got this shot. I double checked my alarm and realised in my alcohol impaired state I set the alarm for midweek only and this was the weekend :)

lol oh man that totally sucked but funny at the same time :P

Did you catch sunset? Most amazing one this year I think. Absolutely amazing from my neck of the woods.

Thanks for the feedback, I had planned for this since my last outing, only a few seconds, and it's over, gotta wait another day for a window of opportunity as this particular plane comes once every 3-4 hours, woke up at 530am to prep for the shot. Plane was late 40 mins, which turned out perfect.

Did heavy shadow recovery, and wasn't sure if it looked fake or not. Thanks again everyone for the feedback. Now to plan a sunset capture :p

Got me dreaming of finding an airport to shoot. Maybe Charlotte, only 3.5 hours away. Came back to show Poof this shot, just awesome.

I used this site for help:

http://www.spotterguide.net (external link), helps you get the vantage points.

I saw the coveted canon 600f4 at one of the spots, way overkill when I was able to fill the frame with a 300. The site recommends focal length and send accurate. Airbus is an absolute monster of a plane, and watching it land really close is pretty intense.

For those of you struggling with Sony's colors....I bought a few presets and profiles from PSKISS because I was having trouble getting the colors out of these studio shots right.

Pretty affordable and and have found it worthwhile so far!
