A friend of mine ask me to take pictures of his daughter's team, she is the goalie. It is a fast-paced sport and the lights are not the best. I have the opportunity to shoot from the team's bench, the good news is that I didn't have to shoot through the glass, the bad news is that when the team was attacking all I got was there backs. Shooting through the glass gave me the ability to move more freely, and when the team was attacking I was able to see faces. Here are some of them.

C & C are welcome.

Nice action shots. Faces are a bit dark; I assume because of overhead lighting. You may want to set your camera at +1/3 EV and see if it helps.

On the attack, there are moments when a player turns briefly to pass the ball or dribble, be ready to capture that moments so you get the face and not the back.

If the lighting is anywhere near uniform in the facility I would suggest shooting in Manual.

Looks like difficult lighting conditions given your setting and the need to go to ISO 12,800. I suspect that is really pushing the limits of the 70D. I don't have much experience in shooting soccer but I generally shoot high level hockey at 1/800 or 1/640. I'm wondering if 1/400 would still freeze the action and allow you to drop the ISO some to get cleaner images. In any event nicely done for your first time.

Sibil and darrell52. Thanks for your comments and recommendations. The first time I shot in this venue, that's were I capture #5, I had my camera in manual mode with auto ISO, 100-6400. I shot #1,#2,#3,#4 on different days, in manual mode, including the ISO, which I set it at 10,000 (not sure why the Metadata is showing 12,800). I processed all these with DxO optic pro 10 to push up the exposure and used its Prime Noise reduction. I might try to shoot at 1/500 next time I am in that venue. Maybe I am pushing the limits of the 70D
