Why two 24mm and a 30mm? Why two 70-200 and a 70-300? Why all the EF-S lenses mix with EF?

Hi my name is Kevin and I am curious about the problem :).....

On the assumption that this puts a bit more pressure on canon, which 85 do you think they'll update first, the L or the 1.8?

I can see them updating the Canon 85mm 1.8 into a 85mm 2.0 IS.

85 1.8 will probably get an update soon.

The decision to not release the weight was most certainly deliberate, and after seeing that I kind of wonder if the dimensional specs might be a little skewed toward the small end.

Not pretty. Wonder how fast it clears up when stopping down.

the 50mm Art is 815g and it actually looked small next to the 85mm Art so I would be very impressed but doubtful it's under 1000g.

I think this shows poor copy variation, I doubt every lens will be this bad. Seems the Sigma lottery is still a thing.

even if that is the worst copy i hardly expect that the best is going to clean it up. Frankly CA seems to be less a matter of copy variation and more a matter of lens design. And no, i'm not an optical engineer. :D

Would love to see that same picture taken with an 85L and a 85 f/1.8 for comparison.

Not that I would buy this lens either way, but it wouldn't really bother me since I could fix it fast and easily in LR.

It would be interesting to see an 85mm f1.2L III since their BR Optics are meant to reduce CA.

Ugggr I wish there are more images available. Having these for two weddings in Nov would be nice. I guess I have to continue borrow my second 85 1.2L for a while.

Buy it, use it and if you don't like it, sell it and consider your loss money is rental :). First dip here.... :)

Sample photos for the 85mm

Looks like it's pretty much the same as my current 85mm

i know the background isn't exactly tricky in the portrait shot but damn that bokeh looks so nice...particularly the way in transitions from in to out of focus, don't think the current siggy 85 can do that
