This looks like a mistake on your part.
That spaceship explains how you get so close to the foxes :-)

I caught this hawk diving for the bushes and got off a couple of shots. These pictures are cropped.

Just happened to glance over on my way home from work today and saw this guy hunting in a field. I've never seen one this close to town (Trader Joe's is like minutes from this spot). The only thing I had was my 7D2 with a Sigma all in one 18-300 on it that I usually just use for shooting trains with, but it did in a pinch. I wish I had my 500 or even my 100-400 with me, but ya gotta use what you have.

Well Guy, I know you would be along. I believe thats what I said.. but all things are not equal in life. I wonder if you have used the 70-300L ??

I have always read great things about the 70-300, but I never benefited from its focal length range. I kind of wish they made a lens as sharp as the 70-300 in the EF 16-300mm f4 variety. I have a Older Tamron fS flavor, but pretty soft at the long end, but great size, weight for walk around, and quite sharp at the non long end.

Back to the 'numbers,' I am curious at what FL does the 70/300 vs 100/400 cross to f5.6?

Another great shot! This is pretty amazing! It is crazy how fast of a shutter speed you need to stop wing tip blur, i like it though as it adds some action. Thanks for sharing.

Lol Maybe Peter,.. I asked him if we could do a shoot in good light,.. It was so dark and raining. I shot 5 images and ripped the 100-400LII off the 7DII and put the 70-300L on for the extra speed. At iso1250 I increased the shutter from 1/100 to 1/200 with the lens change.

Are all of these the same fox or do you just have this many foxes in your area?

The fox images that I have posted in the last two week are the same fox and the very same few minutes that I had with him as he checked me out and passed me by. I would have taken a few hundred Images in that few minutes. but in the last few years the numbers are many. sometimes 4 or 5 animals in the same day.
