Hi Henk, nice, next time I'd recommend to up that shutter rate a lot to freeze that action. The 5D can easily handle higher ISO. 1/4000 min I'd say. Put it in M set F number and shutter speed and let the camera figure out the ISO.

Yes, Subby - I usually shoot at 1/1000 (that was with the Mark III) but I think I'llhave to go higher now. 1/4000 is a bit much but 1/1500 for this sport is sufficient, I think. Agree with the much better IQ at higher ISO.

My name is Henk. and I believe "It is all in the eye of the beholder....."

That's awsome Lars! Did you use any filters? I would love to learn to take a shot like that.

Hi,
Thanks for the nice comment.
No filters were used on this photograph. The photo is taken after sunset. Stopped the car while driving from Bergen to Oslo yesterday because the light was stunning.

That's the thing isn't it.

Pixel peepers can ramble on about Dynamic Range and Bicker about test charts, but (IMO) it's all about taking a photo of something interesting in good light.

Yes, agree 100%!
Light is everything!
Unfortunately when the light is good this time of year, I'm on the bus home from work. This time I was in my car, so I could stop. Also I was on my way back from Bergen driving over Hardangervidda. A beautiful part of Norway! :)

Found this little guy on the road last night. Infant butcher bird who can't fly. It seems that they sometimes get blown from trees. it was stunned or in shock and nearly got run over. Looked after him overnight and took him to a local lady who runs kinda of a bird rescue outfit from her house. She described herself as a Bird Nerd which I liked.
