I bought it for $159 just for taking along to a few NFL training camps next month. I did the same thing back in 2006 with a Canon 1D/Sigma 70-200f2.8 and came back with some pretty decent pics. The D2h firing at 8fps will definitely be better at capturing the action than the D800, lol.

you can get halfway there (6fps) with the D800, grip and EN-EL18 battery. But that'd cost more than what you get the D2H for and wouldn't get you a second body either

I kept backing up until I could attain focus with each shot, so yes it was or very close to minimum focusing distance in each case.

He then proceeded to chase and catch a rabbit instead. Aaron works for animal control and any and all animals are his lively-hood. Even when he's not working with animals he's usually handling something with four legs, lol.
