I'm on the fence on this one.

Headshot sessions this morning; turned the background light on/off to get some variety. Also I swap between my 90mm @ f8 and my 135mm @ f2.8 with a 3 stop ND.

Nice shots. Why the ND filter?

So that I could shoot one lens at f2.8 for shallow DOF, and the other lens at f8, without changing the settings on the lights. Besides, the strobes have a pretty high minimum power level.

If I'm outdoors I'll often crank the shutter and hyper-sync my strobes, but the gradient and colour shift become too much with studio work.

Real nice stuff. I'd love to see a BTH of your lighting.

Really simple setup; white popup background, strobe and reflector for background light, gridded strip box for hair light, diffused octobox for key light, and a white reflector opposite the key.

Thanks for that. It's what I use. Is the light with the small reflector used for fill?

The light on the right with the 7" reflector? I'm thinking it's his background light.

Thanks for the BTS shot. You did well in such a very tight work space.

I'm no expert but I think this is a really good shot.

A little less tight shot with the 70-200/2.8 II then.... I am curious about the 200/2, I may have to loan it, try it out.
