Reworked this old photo a bit.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Here are a few really low light pics from Halloween. The 6D really flexes its muscles here. Hard to believe it could even focus in this little of light, not to mention control the noise this well. Used a tad of NR to smooth some of it. But it was seriously so dark.

They're not the sharpest images on the site, but as you'll see in the Exif, not great conditions! Both at 12,800 ISO

Nice shots, great examples of the high iso at night.

Just bought the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary and loving it. Sold my Canon 400mm f5.6L USM to fund it and don't regret it one bit. Whilst "testing" the new lens, I managed to get one of the stags at Dyrham Park. There are other deer & stag stots all with the lens in the same album on my Flickr page (external link).

Woke up this morning to this spectacular sunrise behind Mr. Hood, as seen from the deck of my house! Scrambled a bit setting up the camera and tripod and missed the best of the early light, so by the time I was ready, it was already too bright. This is what i got:
