Where does he say that he doesn't like Sony (the company)? I know he doesn't love everything about the a7 series, but that's a product, not a company.

His E-M1 Mark II review.

"I have made my feelings on Sony abundantly clear in the past, and I don’t have anywhere near the same degree of confidence in the output (or reliability, for that matter). "
" I won’t comment on Sony as I’m not touching one of those again. I’ve had several, none of them have been reliable for various reasons and frankly all were not in the least bit enjoyable to use."

That's next on my list of "things to buy when I've got an extra $800 laying around". It's not a very long list.

I would love a new flash setup for ease of use, but I'm not too bothered with the workflow of my current system in all honesty.

A quick reminder...

If you update to the latest version of Photoshop CC which is PS CC 2017, don't forget to update all your plugins too.

Here's how I do it:

Thanks Gene. Do actions need to be moved as well or are they in a common folder that all versions access?

Regarding the update there doesn't seem to be one single enhancement or new feature in CC 2017 that benefits photography...did I miss something?

The Select and Mask received some enhancements.

Sorry David, I can't answer your question regarding actions as I don't use any. I have noticed there is a separate folder for actions in the current version of PS but when the older version is overwritten, only the 'plugins' folder remains. I'm sure a search on Youtube will yield a tutorial on that.

And no, I don't think there are any specific new features for the photographer in the newest version. I updated because there are usually improvements in many of the filters normally found in PS.

I always upgrade regardless. If nothing else the interface is always just a bit slicker with every new release and that positively affects my enjoyment level when working. I like a lot of the UI changes I'm seeing. :)

There is a new slick search function in the latest version I believe.

On another topic, I've been reading some positive impressions of the Laowa 12mm lens from users that received theirs. Definitely a good sign. There was an email from Venus Optics with a few links to the feedback.

The chili I made last week was a big hit so this week, with cooler, wetter weather, I made another batch. This time, I made it in a dutch oven on the grill.

If anyone is wondering, I use black olives, mushrooms and even a little molasses in my dish. My neighbor made some cast iron skillet cornbread to go with...yum!

12 year...nice...although Scotch and I don't get on too good...now, bourbon...different story.

A little impromptu portrait from last week...a life long friend was in town from CA for a day, so we went on a hike...the light was just too good to waste it. Shot with the 50ART...

I have a gas problem with...

Flashpoint XPLOR 600 HSS TTL

https://www.amazon.com …d+R2+Transmitter+For+sony (external link)

here's a video demo. TTL works like a baby. Manny played with the shutterspeed and the strobe knows. Adjust on it's own.

sorry coming into the party late here. Some people swear by TTL, whle some people dont. The problem ive had with ttl is that it sometimes gets fooled by the framing when you have highly reflective items in the frame (or high specular values). So for me i would rather shoot manual and have the ability to move up or down the flash power from where i am standing.

I havent shot in a studio a long time now though (or even with off camera flash) - especially with my a7s, so the technology might have improved.
