Selfie time. Me trying to take picture of me. Looking to break into "corporate" headshot market. I need a grey background. My black coat falls into the black background too much.

What's your light set up? And what background are you using? You may be able to just change your light arrangement and use what you have.

You've got a great start! How many tries did it take? When I did mine own "selfie" about a month ago, it only took like 40 shots. ;)

Thanks. I have a 47" Octabox as key, camera nearly touching my camera on the right. I have an umbrella to my back left for hair, and a bare speedlight right behind me for background splash. I am also holding a reflector at my waist for fill.

I think I got this picture in 10-15 shots. I was triggering my 6D from my smartphone that I was holding. Makes focusing easy too.

You could use your octa as key, umbrella as fill (which can end up lighting your big) and your bare as hair light.

I usually do the key at about 30 degrees and the fill nearly straight behind the camera. I do use a strip box for hair/rim but bare should work, too.

Not trying to tell you what to do. Just offering another route. :)

When I put a light directly behind camera I get an extra catchlight. Is there a way to avoid this?
