If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I wanted my camera right on the ground Lester, I did use live view once and found the back ground was in super sharp focus.... lol ... Just try putting your camera on the ground and and check focus without an external monitor. So Im firmly in the camp of needing the flip screen. can I live with out the touch screen ..ya sure I can. In the winter I can dig my self down to get on eye level and most winters its easy and I do it just with my feet and just kick myself a hole. I kinda do get as low as I can lol
( Pic below ) lol Second is me buried up to my waist and scoopying down to be at snow level

My son and I were almost done birding at Broughton Beach along the Columbia River in Portland this morning when he excitedly pointed his binoculars at a little white guy hopping around on the sand by the water, screaming "snow bunting, snow bunting!" What's not to like about 12 year old birders? :)

Anyway, here are some shots of the bird, a lifer for both of us. It is a relatively rare visitor to our area, and apparently, this is the first sighting of a snow bunting in our county since 2014.

Hope you like the shots - 7D2 + 500/4 II.

Saw this Osprey in an odd spot by my Apartment Clubhouse near the lake. He was not moving at all but would occasionally look up at me. Not sure what is wrong with him. He is still there as I type this. Hopefully these kids don't mess with it.

Edit: and its dead floating in the water. Sad

So in a hurry I purchased the cheaper 10-18 lens. Didn't want to spend much money on it going on vacation and all. Sharp images but with distortion and lots of lens flare. My jeep looks all woppie jawed.
Haha
