Staying in Kenmare for two weeks next summer. We have the accommodations set and will be there with loads of family from the states. I know absolutely nothing about Ireland and need suggestions about everything from photography sites to food and also driving on the wrong side of the road.
I've bought the Rick Steves book and will use it a lot I'm sure (his book was very useful in Paris way back when). Looks like the Ring of Kerry is a must, as well as Killarney National Park and the Torc waterfall. How about the Dingle peninsula? Is the Skellig Michael worth almost a day?
Have you been there? What did you like? What didn't you like?
Is it worth taking the train to Dublin for a few days?
My photography kit is pretty much set but I will need a smaller travel tripod. I plan on taking the 16-35 and the 70-200 with both bodies and one flash. Thinking of the pancake as well. Lee filters will come for sure. Hope to shoot tons of landscape, architecture & family.
Any comments from those that have been, or live there, are appreciated. School me please.
