Beautiful landscapes. I like them both but am leaning towards the first one. Just needs a tighter crop.

Took a group trip this weekend to Page AZ.... on the boarder between Utah and Arizona right at Lake Powell and the main part of the Colorado River. Weather was sketch till Sunday when I came home. Did Horse Shoe Bend, Slot Canyon, Page Balloon Fest, Some of the Damn...errr dam and then stopped on the way back in Flagstaff to hit Sunset Crater and get a shot of the Peaks with snow. I love Arizona this is all just 4 hours from Phoenix but such a different world.

Well there seems to be an issue with this Laowa lens. I cant focus at infinity. If I focus on somthing in the distance the lens hits the hard stop before it comes into focus. Nightmare. How do you go about returning a kickstarter item??

So P155ed off right now. Wish I hadnt took the chance. Normally I read reviews etc before buying a lens but went in blind on this one. Ive just rechecked it from a tripod and I definitely cant focus at infinity. Ive sent a message to the creator on kickstarter. Hopefully this isnt hassle to get agreement to return the lens

I would expect them to take the lens, fix it and send it back.

Hopefully you and David have better luck than me. Apart from this issue it feels solidly built. There's a slight wiggle on the mount but not concerning. The packaging is high quality, almost batis like. The lens came vacuum packed too which was initially hard to get into but once I pierced it it was ok. Just annoying there is an issue

sorry to hear, it's happened to me multiple times this/last year, really badly defective lenses, maybe you got infected with the horrible luck :p

I had quite a few high ticket items go bad, DOA.... just a big mess and super frustrating, even had to get one repaired and file insurance claim, PP gift on FM turned bad. Hope you get in that good place of not having to deal with these issues, I think I'm past it now, past 3 lenses have been perfect for me (knock on wood), and I'm in a good place right now WRT gear.

I'm worried Venus optics will just ignore my email and there is nothing I can do. I just read through all the Kickstarter FAQ and there's nothing they can help with as my transaction is with Venus optics directly. I paid by visa debit too instead of a credit card so no support there. If they don't reply to my emails what are my options?

I think they are Vietnamese....fyi for time zone responses. Not a big company but hold your breath. I would be they will be responsive but not fast. ........ Deep breaths deep breaths.

Sorry to hear about the troubles .... the excitement adrenaline isnt gone and then your left looking at the wallet and a hunk of plastic. Sigh

I would hold on a few days. Im sure they will try to help you.

The last thing a small company like this would want, is someone complaining about their quality. Im very sure they will respond amd help you.

Imagine how this can hurt the reputation if you go public with it.
