Hi all,

I'm trying to find a good site with accurate and up to date info on the status of the fall colors in Southern Colorado. Specifically the San Juan's around Silverton, Ouray, Ridgeway, Telluride. I've been looking but I can't find anything for 2016. There are some older sites, but nobody seems to have anything for this year yet. Does anyone have a site that they use to get an accurate status? Any info would be much appreciated...

Thanks!

Paul

Channel 9 news indicated (3 days ago) that the leaves were turning early in some areas. And as you likely know they are at their peak for about one week to 10 days so I would be heading there next week.

You can read/view the news report at http://www.9news.com …ng-colors-early/315406866 (external link)

I visited arches natl park this past holiday weekend, traveling from las vegas. I went north and took 70 east toward colorado, and I was pleasantly surprised! Looks like an early fall in the mountains; I plan on returning in the next week or two.

Yeah, next week or two should be it. I was in RMNP last week end and there's just a hint of color change.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Currently I'm tentatively planning on Sept 24-27th, but I'll keep trying to get accurate info as it gets closer. Thanks for the feedback.

If anyone else is trying to figure out the state of fall color, I found a website with links to webcams all around Colorado. Good to see how far along the color is at any given time.

Fall Colors in CO seems to be quite a crap-shoot anymore. Yeah, there are certain areas that seem to fall more or less in the same general time-frame, but to really catch the colors, you literally need to be 'here' for 2-3 weeks straight (lol).

For 2017, I am already starting to do planning, based on trend data for the last 4 years. My hope is that I can block out the right places for the right time-period and make the most of it. :D
