I have not seen one deer this fall so far. The wolves are howling very close though. Two nights ago they ran out of the side yard as I was going outside around 9pm .. it was dark so I only seen a flash.

I was actually thinking of this thread when I took this, part of a group of many toucan photos as a family of a pair and a young one visited the lodge where I was staying.

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.

Completely stunning... I really love your fox photos Jeff... I may not have told you before... *grin*

... and a massive thank you for allowing me to use some of them in my Red Fox husbandry manual... there were lots of oohs and aaahs from my zookeeping classmates when we handed in the final drafts today... quite a few were seriously jealous of your stunning photos!

It's sending a signal via semaphore. Outstanding shot Peter.

Thank you Red. I am lucky that this harrier is very calm and does not mind few photographers taking his picture, I watched this harrier since last winter and I am glad that he is back where we saw him perched all the time.

That's so cool, I was more than happy to pitch in with the images. I still would love to have a fox buddy right at my home. I do have one that will sometimes come through my yard in the winter months, I see his tracks in the fresh snow.

I also had some of MY photos displayed in a few other classmates' manuals... Emu, Tasmanian Devil, Blue and Gold Macaw, African Lion, Powerful Owl... sharing is caring, yes?

As for fox buddies at home... my two are currently play fighting and making an awful racket... and it's only 6:30am! And during breeding season, the night screams can be disconcerting... even though my boys are both desexed, they still decded that 2am was a good time to start calling for a girlfriend through winter... *sigh*

If you ever come to Sydney, Australia, let me know, and I'll happily get you up close and personal with a bunch of friendly pet foxes for a massive cuddle session...
